Three of my friends and I attended an interactive event at Kent State University with a few of our moms. The event focused on hunger in the United States. It introduced us to Americans from all walks of life who struggle with food insecurities. Many of them were educated, had high paying jobs at one time, currently had minimum wage jobs that just didn’t cover the cost of feeding their families or had huge medical bills that kept them from being able to afford food. The exhibit really had an profound effect on us. To find out more specifics about hunger in the U.S. and how you can help, visit This is Hunger.
