With our fundraising finished, we were ready to begin our travel adventure to the House of Hope in Georgia, to set up 2 bedrooms and a media room in the foster home. We were beyond thankful for all of the donations people made to help us achieve this goal. Friends, family, and strangers came to our fundraising events, gave us donations to buy furniture, paint, bedding, etc., bought items off of the Amazon Wish List for the rooms, gave their time and talent to help us raise funds. The outpouring of love and support was heartwarming.
The founder of House of Hope, Darcelle Burandt, shared these kind words on FB:
“I have had so many God winks since starting House of Hope but to watch God use people like this- Susan and her girls live in Ohio and her daughter does service projects with her friends and these beautiful 13 year olds decided they would help me and they did not know me- God placed it on their hearts❣ they went on to sponsor 3 rooms and put an Amazon account together and people they knew went in and ordered items that were sent directly here. They flew in today and will be here for 4 days serving house of hope. What a blessing. Feel overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you! ❣❣
It was so exciting to see all of the boxes from Amazon in the room when we arrived and to meet Darcelle and her family. They could not have been nicer or more welcoming to us!! We got to work right away.
