Summer Volunteer Opportunities

We will be updating this list frequently, so check back often :). All the specifics are too much to list here, but contact my mom at 330.714.8898 or me at

May 31st – Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack 7:30-9:30 in Bath (this event does require pre-registration)

June 3rd – Portrait mini-sessions at my house in Kent. You can check out the details on my mom’s FB page. We will be helping to make sure the sessions run smoothly and make signs for the Lemon Shake-Up Fundraiser. We will also cover light plates for the Georgia bedrooms in glitter.

June 9th and 10th – Neighborhood Garage Sale in River Bend. 9th from 9-5, if we are busy. If we are not, we’ll shut down sooner. 10th from 9-1, only if we are busy. We will sell concessions and household items. My mom is not a saver. She donates everything, so we don’t have that much to sell. If you have anything you would love to get out of your house, we would be so happy to sell it for a good cause. All sales will go to House of Hope. We have trucks that can pick up big items. If you have any questions and for more details, please contact my mom at 330.714.8898.

June 17th – Kent Flea Market 9-4. We will be selling Lemon Shake-Ups to benefit House of Hope. Come for part or all of the time. We would love to have you!

June 22nd – We have been selling raffle tickets for a gorgeous silver and amethyst pendant donated by Bella Design Jewelers. If you would like to help sell tickets, we would soooooo appreciate the help. The live FB drawing will be held on the 22nd at Bella Designs. Anyone who would like to join us for dinner and the drawing at the jewelry store is welcome.

July 14th – Our family’s friend, Patty, is chairing a FMSC Mobile Pack in Hudson next Spring. This is an enormous undertaking. We are going to sell concessions at her neighborhood garage sale from 9-3. We’ll play music and have lunch brought in. Join us!!

July 31st – Painting, cleaning and setting up one bedroom in Miller Community House from 9-12. Items we still need (may be gently used): 2 twin mattress pads, 2 twin sheet sets, 2 twin comforters (kid themed – characters, sports), 6 new pillows, 1 full mattress pad, full length wall mirror (on sale now at Walmart for $5 in dorm room section), wall decal for over full bed, metal or plastic shelving (cannot be wood) to store/organize personal belongings, and light gray wall paint.

August 5th – Feed My Starving Children Car Wast at the Discount Drug Mart on Darrow Rd. in Hudson from 9-11am.

August 27th – No Sew Blankets for Miller Community House 2-4pm at our house. Kids are invited to bring grandparents or other adults who might enjoy the project. We will learn how to make the blankets, make them and then enjoy some refreshments together. Each person needs to bring two yards of fleece and a sharp pair of scissors. We’ll wrap the blankets when we are done.

Sept. 17 or 24th – Waiting to hear back. We are planning to make blankets with residents for a local assisted living center. We’ll teach the residents how to make the blankets, make them together and then give residents the blankets as a gift. Each participant needs to bring 2 yards of fabric and at least one pair of sharp scissors, two pairs would be great!

Dine to Donate for Feed My Starving Children – Aug. 12th Lulu’s in Hudson 2-8pm, Aug. 26th Cold Stone in Hudson 5-8 and Sept. 12th Dairy Queen in Twinsburg  4-8pm.
