Our group had the pleasure of serving meals at Kent Social Services. Everything was so well organized when we arrived. We were given a tour of the facility, washed our hands, put on our aprons and lovely hairnets and set to work. We formed a line and quickly were able to serve many people. The meal was breakfast casserole and potatoes, salad, rolls, fruit and a wide variety of desserts. We had time to talk to many of the people in attendance, shared stories and some laughs. Afterward, we helped clean up by putting food away, washing the counters and tables, and sweeping.
We felt lucky to have been able to serve and also fortunate that we have enough food to eat at home. Our hearts went out to the people there.
