Help support the Miller Community House by enjoying some delicious chili before the RHS football game on October 14th from 4-7pm. You’ll have the opportunity to bid on some terrific raffle items too :).
“Another upcoming, significant Roosevelt event is our Chili Challenge. This event was started by The Bridges Academy as a service project over fifteen years ago. Proceeds of over $15,000 from the Challenge have gone to support the Miller Community House. Annually, our Roosevelt students in The Bridges Academy prepare to host this event while learning about poverty and the importance of helping others who may be less fortunate. It is a meaningful, practical learning experience when our teachers create an environment where students are able to work as a team and see the importance of communication, organization, hard work, and service to others. In past years, other groups have worked with the Bridges students to manage and organize the Chili Challenge. This year our Key Club will partner with The Bridges Academy to coordinate the Challenge. The Key Club boasts over sixty members and one of their main goals is to increase the connectivity between the Kent schools and our community members with a special focus on those in need. The Chili Challenge is a prime example of “The Roosevelt Way” in action. ” – October Branching Out.
Hope to see you there!
